Rising stars from 11 countries at the 4th Horizon Cup

The next generation of artistic gymnastics will have their opportunity to shine bright this weekend (November 11th-12th) in Thessaloniki, at the 4th International Tournament Horizon Cup, which will once again be the biggest international event of its kind in Greece.

A total of 160 athletes, born between 2007 and 2012, will come closer to their dreams and live a unique competition of high standards in the “Ioannis Melissanidis” Hall of the National Sports Center of Mikra.

In this year’s Horizon Cup, boys and girls from 11 European and Asian countries (Kuwait, Albania, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Switzerland, Kosovo, Cyprus, Hungary, Czech Republic and Greece) will open their horizons, representing around 20 foreign gymnastics clubs and equally as many Greek gymnastics clubs from all over the territory.

The competition program will last from 09:00 in the morning until late in the afternoon for both days, while on Saturday (11/11) at 17:30 the Opening Ceremony will take place. Ms. Irene-Maria Papadaki will be the hostess of the Opening Ceremony.
Entrance will be free for the fans, who will see the “Ioannis Melissanidis” Hall transformed for the better, thanks to the interventions that will be made on the occasion of the event.
The results will be available in real time (live score), through the web page https://agscores.ego-gymnastics.gr/events/33.

The Horizon Cup also has an important social dimension, since it cooperates for the second year in a row with the “Agapi” Association of Vasiliki Komnos, which during the two days of competition will inform the spectators about cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the early treatment of heart diseases, but also about collection of revenue, with the aim of donating defibrillators to sports clubs and schools.

The 4th Horizon Cup International Artistic Gymnastics Tournament is organized by the Hellenic Gymnastics Federation in collaboration with the Athletic Association of Gymnastics Clubs of Northern Greece (A.E.S.G.V.E.). The co-organizers are the Region of Central Macedonia, the Municipality of Thessaloniki and the National Sports Centers of Thessaloniki, while the event is also under the auspices of the Deputy Ministry of Sports and is supported by the Municipality of Kalamaria.
